Libyan Forces Now Control Restive Town, Officials Say

Officials in Libya said on Wednesday that government forces had taken control of the western town of Bani Walid, after a deadly assault that lasted almost a week and led to accusations that the country’s new government was using indiscriminate force to punish a restive city.

At least 22 people were killed and hundreds were wounded as militias nominally under the government’s control shelled Bani Walid

Israel's "Iron Dome" missile defense shield proven ineffective as only 8 out of 80 missiles (10%) launched from Gaza were shot down during latest barrage, no match for Iranian missile forces should they be unleashed, a worrying development

http://israelmatzav.blogspot.ca/2011/10/rockets-fired-from-gaza-on-israels.html
Matt's thoughts:
As you can see by this clip (filmed in Gaza), the rockets being fired can be unleashed rapidly and plentifully. There are currently tens of thousands of these and similar projectiles currently aimed at Israel, rendering the Iron Dome propaganda-tool mostly useless. This is very dangerous for Israel, and will require a significant number of preemptive airstrikes on missile stockpiles (as was successfully done during the last incursion into Lebanon) and / or possibly a repeat of Operation Cast Lead, that is, Israeli boots invading Gaza, Lebanon and elsewhere, to stop a rain of hell from coming. I strongly believe the Israeli government already knows this, which is why everyone is hurriedly building or cleaning out their bomb shelters and large public areas of Israeli cities are being turned into just-in-time makeshift hospitals. This could become a truly dire situation strategically. Below, you can see the paralysis that occurs when just a scattering of rockets are launched, and one can only imagine what things will be like when the full barrage is unleashed, possibly in addition to actual ground attacks from neighbouring countries. Israel would need dozens of Iron Domes to be able to adequately protect itself.
